Mr. Spies has over 30 years of relevant industry and
government experience during which he has developed business relationships with
senior executives at the commercial, state and federal levels.
Mr. Spies’ last position was Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the
Pacific Council on International Policy, a Pacific Rim policy “think tank” whose membership
includes current and former senior elected officials at the state and federal level as well
as leaders and senior executives of Fortune 100 companies. In this position, he designed
and implemented massive changes to refocus the organization’s effectiveness.
Prior to assuming these responsibilities, Mr. Spies was the Vice President and Director
for the Joint Operations Department, JAYCOR Defense Systems Division, Titan Corporation. In this
capacity he was directly responsible for developing business strategy and operations of a
division supporting national missile defense support services, operations analysis, and military
and business war gaming.
Mr. Spies commenced his industry career after serving 27 years in the United States
Marine Corps. During his Marine Corps career, Mr. Spies served in a variety of capacities.
Additional relevant assignments include: Assistant Wing Commander 3MAW; Commander Marine
Air Control Group; Office of the Secretary of Defense, Office of Assistant Secretary of
Defense for Strategy and Threat Reduction Offices; Office of the Deputy Chief of Naval
Operations for Warfare Requirements (OP-07); Chief Operational Test Director Air Test
and Evaluation Squadron Five; United States Navy Test Pilot School.
